Allison Cara Tolman has been acting for more than 20 years. The actress was nominated for Emmys and Golden Globes in the role of Molly Solverson on the FX series Fargo's first season. Tolman was raised in the city of New York and is a mother to two older and a younger siblings. The family relocated to England to Sugar Land in Texas, when she was an infant. She lived in Oklahoma for five years and then West Texas before moving to Sugar Land. The Fort Bend Community Theatre, she began acting lessons in the age of 10. Clements High School was her high school and she completed her studies in the year 2000. Baylor University granted her a Master of Fine Arts with an emphasis on theatrical performance. After graduation, she lived in Dallas and became a founding member of Second Thought Theatre. After moving to Chicago to attend The Second City Training Center and then returning to Illinois for her final year of studies in 2009. Tolman started her acting career in the year 2014. She starred on the FX crime comedy Fargo's first season. Fargo was based on the Coen Brothers' 1996 film of the same name. It starred Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman as well as Bob Odenkirk. Tolman's performance as Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson was praised by Vanity Fair, who wrote: "She calmly and confidently took over the entire performance". Critics' Choice Television Award, Best Supporting Actress (Movie/Miniseries) as well as Golden Globe nominated were announced for Tolman's role.
